The conversation starts when the screen goes dark.

Lifewise’s Let’s Talk Digital initiative brings communities together to explore youth mental health and digital well-being through film, facilitated conversations, and opportunities to connect across generations.

Featuring Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age, the initiative invites youth, parents, caregivers, educators, and community members to explore how digital technology shapes our lives and how we can support young people.

Our first screening takes place Thursday, January 28, 2027, at Cineplex in St. John’s.

Registration details coming soon.

What is Screenagers?

Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age is an award-winning documentary that explores the challenges families face as young people grow up surrounded by screens, social media, video games, and digital technology.

Physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston brings a personal perspective to the film, exploring questions about family life, education, screen use, and young people’s well-being.

Through personal stories, expert perspectives, and practical ideas, Screenagers invites viewers to reflect on how technology shapes young people’s lives and how families and communities can support healthy relationships with digital media.

More Than a Screening

The conversation doesn’t end when the credits roll.

Through Let’s Talk Digital, Lifewise is bringing Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age to communities across Newfoundland and Labrador, creating space for people of different generations and perspectives to come together, reflect on the film, and talk about what digital well-being looks like in their lives.
